Evidence of ISP® Effectiveness
Studies have shown ISP® effectively stabilizes individuals and groups experiencing moderate to extreme psychological distress during manmade and natural disasters, including COVID-19, wartime events, and terrorist attacks, by helping them reduce their disturbance levels in single sessions.
No re-traumatization or adverse reactions were observed from the participants or ISP® providers.
ISP® DURING COVID-19: ADMINISTERED IN INDIA (with individuals)

Participants: 53, 16 males / 37 females. Mean age of 34 (SD = 13.48), with a minimum age of 13 and a maximum age of 67.
Conclusion: The self-care ISP® protocol was effective as a remote (telehealth) stabilization intervention for those experiencing COVID-19-related distress in a relatively timely manner (one session, <30 minutes, which included time to process the patient). No contraindications, re-traumatization, or other adverse reactions were observed from the participant or mental health professional.
*SUD = Subjective Units of Disturbance Scale
ISP® DURING UKRAINIAN-RUSSIAN WAR: ADMINISTERED IN UKRAINE (with individuals)

Participants: 155 Ukrainian participants from the Center of Psychological Counseling and Trauma Therapy in Ukraine via online telehealth. 67.7% were in-country and 32.3% abroad. 14 male (9.0%) / 141 female (91.0%), average age of 28.23 (SD =10.31).
Conclusion: ISP® effectively stabilized individuals experiencing psychological distress during wartime by helping them reduce their disturbance levels in single sessions. Significant decreases in consecutive ISP® interventions suggest it may also produce a cumulative resiliency in participants each time it is used. No re-traumatization or other adverse reactions were observed.
*SUD = Subjective Units of Disturbance Scale
ISP® DURING UKRAINIAN-RUSSIAN WAR: ADMINISTERED IN UKRAINE (with groups)

Participants: 94 Ukrainian participants were collected from various-sized groups at the Center of Psychological Counseling and Trauma Therapy in Ukraine. 86.2% were in-country and 13.8% abroad. Nine were male (10.0%), and 85 were female (90.0%), with an average age of 43.12 (SD =8.90). Group sizes ranged from 2 to 65 participants.
Conclusion:
-
The same effectiveness ISP® results as recorded with individuals
-
Not a factor: Age, Gender, Protocol, Time, Group size
-
Applying multiple protocols appeared to be beneficial as the group size increased
